Keeping up...

I'm back at my apartment, and 15 new sets of notecards were delivered while I was away! So I packaged all of those, and after filling my back-orders, I have 4 sets left. More on their way. I think I may just order a ton and hope that I can sell them eventually.

Drawing lots of self-portraits from life, but I do have some photos I'm interested in drawing.

In print

I picked up my art prints today! Well, first I spent two and a half hours cutting them, and I (magically) only ruined one print of "Turkeys" during the cutting process...

They came out really beautifully! The paper is heavy and textured, and it just feels really nice. The blown up version of "Birds in Flight" looks kind of lackluster, so I got to take it home for free. I want to hang it up in my apartment to be bold and arty.

Sold out of notecard sets. Lots more are on their way in the mail...

Shipping and handling

I just shipped out my first three online orders of notecards! And it has left me almost sold out! Well, I have two more boxes available now, and I have about 20 more boxes coming in the near future. But maybe you better hold off that "buy now" button for a week or so...

By next week I should be stocked up.

Day 2

Yesterday I sent out my big website launch e-mail, and since then it has felt like it's my birthday! So many supportive responses. It's very encouraging!

I met with Mark at Fine Utility (http://www.fineutility.com/) this morning, and so it looks like I'll have art prints available by the end of the month. If anybody is looking to make high quality prints, I highly recommend working with Fine Utility!

My current drawings have been unfinished experiments on brown kraft paper. Silhouettes. Some portraits of Alex. More birds. More ballpoint pen. I'm not sure where it's headed.

Here we go

This is so cool.

My website is launching, people are ordering my notecard sets, and I'm showing at Somerville Open Studios (May 3, 4 -- more details to follow)!

I'm currently figuring out how to set up paypal, which will let you order notecards directly from adinabricklin.com, and it will also allow me to accept credit cards at Somerville Open Studios.

I'm also meeting with Mark Peterson on Friday about making art prints of my drawings. Right now the plan is to make to-scale color prints on textured paper of "Turkeys" and "Birds in Flight." Mark is also interested in experimenting with blowing the images up bigger and seeing what happens. Very cool.
